Baby Schmieder Nursery Design: Help Us Choose a Crib

The hardest decision to make with the nursery is the crib. The design of the room is pretty much done and I’m usually a VERY decisive person but I’m not 100% on the crib. I love them both so much!

Option 1 | Option 2

I always thought I was going to get Option 2: the traditional crib. But the nursery design overall is quite traditional looking, and I actually really love the clean, crisp, simple look of Option 1 looks with everything else I chose, and I’m wondering if traditional is just a bit too much… especially once you add bedding.

And I really like the idea of NOT having a bed skirt. Although the carpet in the room isn’t my favorite so maybe the skirt is good to hide it… but it means more dust. There will be an area rug like we had with the office but you’ll still see the light carpet around the border of the room. Hmm tricky.

Help me decide!

Now I cannot help that Serena and Lily stylists chose to style both cribs in boy rooms so don’t read into the photos I’m showing! Hah Both options would of course be lovely in girl nurseries as well, like the image at the top of the post. I just think it’s helpful to see how the cribs look surrounded by textiles and color.

This is our nursery dresser which is final and already in the room! It’s less cream colored in person but either way I’m not worried about the whites matching perfectly.

I think I said before I started designing the nursery before we knew the gender so I’m almost certain all of the wooden furniture items are going to be white (also plan on getting a white wooden bookshelf), and I’m bringing color in with the glider, ottoman, side table, lamps, accents, bedding, art, pillow, rug, curtains, etc.

So do we think Crib 1 or Crib 2?
