I’ve had a clear idea of what I wanted the nursery to look like since day one – before we knew we were having a boy. It was always going to be rooted in neutral furniture – white, grey, beige, and light wood – with brass accents and then accessories in either light blue or blush pink. Easy enough.
Last week was exciting! A ton of nursery items arrived! Still waiting on the big pieces but I wanted to share a few of the goodies with you!
As someone who started babysitting at 14 years old and now has seven nieces and nephews, I’ve been in my fair share of nurseries. I must say it is just surreal now having a room in our house with toys and items for a little babe. It’s so fun seeing it all come together. I have a ton personally going on with work and Dan travels a lot so we’re trying to get this off our to do last earlier rather than later.
In my pregnancy announcement post I mentioned that I did a lot of the nursery design before knowing Baby S was a boy. That of course means I relied heavily on gender neutral pieces – a decision rooted more in practicality of investing in pieces that would work for future babies (regardless of their gender).
The hardest decision to make with the nursery is the crib. The design of the room is pretty much done and I’m usually a VERY decisive person but I’m not 100% on the crib. I love them both so much!
Happy Sunday! Sundays mark our weekly tracking and today marks Week 17! Baby is the size of a pomegranate, turnip, or apple, depending on which app you check–that’s over 5 inches long!
I’m going to be doing these weekly updates on the blog answering questions, filling you in on me, the babe, the bump, the nursery, and pregnant life.
