My Winter-to-Spring Capsule Wardrobe (Maternity Edition)

I am six months into this pregnancy. Have gone from fall to winter and will now be heading into spring… and here are the few pieces I’ve more or less been living in the since September!

Sweaters, flowy tops, leggings, maternity jeans, and comfy shoes. As I’ve said, I still don’t have a very big bump going into week 26 so I’ve been able to get away with not needing maternity tops because so much of today’s fashion is the flowy/oversized look! Yay. (Might be a lot more difficult if I had a summer pregnancy – and I assume things will change in the final month when the temps are warmer… that’ll be interesting!)

The 3 things I did need to change with my style (so far, six months in):

  • switched to “supportive” bralettes… this set of three is $22! My boobs grew immediately (which let me tell you they did not need any growing) and the underwire starting hurting my rib cage/belly so I moved to nursing bralettes around month 4 and boy are they are a treat!
  • switched to maternity jeans… if I’m being honest, I made this switch before I even needed to because… stretchy waist people! They’re way more comfortable! These were expensive but they’re the only pants I wear other than black leggings and I’ll be able to wear them post-partum for a long while, so I’ll get a solid year’s worth out of them – PLUS can use them for future kids – so they were well worth it.
  • my knee-high and OTK boots stopped fitting around Christmas. I didn’t think my legs or feet got bigger but the fact that I can no longer get my boots over my calves anymore would say otherwise… womp womp. Booties and comfortable flats it is.

Oh and I needed a new swimsuit for our babymoon!

All the tops below are NOT maternity… except for the workout top. I’ve been lucky to get away with flowy and long-hem non-maternity tops so far!

oversized warm sweater (not maternity)
slouchy sweater (not maternity)
long-hem fancy sweater w/ v-neck back (not maternity)
striped light-weight sweater (not maternity)
medium-weight cardigan (not maternity)
long-hem v-neck sweater (not maternity)
long-hem tunic blouse (not maternity – I’ve actually been able to wear my go-to slouchy white silk blouse thus far and I’m at 26 weeks!)
black tank top (maternity – also white!)
slouchy black dress pants (not maternity – wear for dressier occasions) – also just ordered these black pants for third trimester comfort
dark wash maternity denim (on my daily rotation)
distressed black maternity denim (on my daily rotation)
white maternity denim (for late spring/post-partum this summer!)
wool wrap coat (not maternity) – the lack of zipper or buttons makes wrapping and closing around your growing bump much easier!
boyfriend coat (not maternity) – slouchy oversized style allows for growth!
trench coat (not maternity) – again, the wrap or leaving open factor helps with a growing bump!
striped maternity dress (can be worn not pregnant!)
maternity black leggings (for daily wear)
maternity workout pants w/ mesh detailing – also got these white/beige colorblock non-maternity yoga pants that I’m obsessed with
maternity workout racerback tank
ruffle top one-piece swimwear (not maternity) – bought two sizes up, the ruffles disguise my massive chest. Also recommend this more affordable black and white ruffle top and this ruched one-piece for large chests!

comfy knot sandal (SO comfy! great support)
suede bootie (my tall boots stopped fitting over my calves #sadface )
