I am VERY excited to share the new sofa we are getting…! In an unexpected twist from the girl who has mainly only decorated with neutrals the last few years (outside of the kids’ rooms)…
Drumroll please…
That’s right! It’s BLUE! And patterned! And has that gooorgeous wood frame.
I was so so lucky to partner with Serena & Lily on a new piece for our home, and I chose the Barton Sofa in Coastal Lake Stripe fabric. Could have gone with grey or white or beige – my faves. But I went BLUE. It’s currently 25% off until December 1 with code THANKFUL (along with pretty much everything in their store save for art and items already marked down )! We’ll be putting it on our living room and keeping the chaise in the family room.
Since I know people will ask, nothing was wrong at all with our Rose sofa – I’ve had and loved it for the last 6 years (it’s moved with me through the last four homes), and it’s just going to live at my dad’s new house for now!
More importantly – this is just a little taste of the decorating style I’ll be going in wherever we end up moving in the next year or so (whenever that happens)! I took a screenshot of some of the design inspiration I’ve been saving on Instagram the last few months – it’s quite different than our current place!
A few things stand out:
– color (mostly soft pastels)
– fun tile
– very traditional but also approachable and relaxed
– architectural detail (arched windows, peaked ceilings, shiplap, etc)
– family-friendly
– pretty!

As for the S&L sale, I love love love S&L and have a bunch of their furnishings and accessories around our home. Just our family room alone has this rattan coffee table, the bold pendant light, and side tables.
And in our kitchen are my favorite rattan counter stools, long light blue runner, AND Henry’s stool!
Our bedroom has my favorite rug (have sourced this for two design clients) and a Serena & Lily upholstered bed.
And I just made over the guest room at my mom’s house with some of their gorgeous pieces and bedding!
GIFT IDEAS:
This robe which I got for the hospital when I had Henry and have lived in. Also comes in jammies.
This dip dyed vase – I use this for flowering branches on our coffee table!
The lidded basket – might seem like an odd gift but I promise this looks gorgeous in any home and is so practical for laundry or storage!
This rattan tray – gorgeous on a coffee table or kitchen island! We have it on the latter.
