Our Powder Room: Before & After

A month or so ago our Everygirl team put together this great post about Drew Barrymore’s new home line at Walmart, and we all agreed it was an impressive collection – and at such great amazing prices.  I mean, that is one lovely pink velvet sofa for $900! The quality and construction is also really nice especially considering the price point!

A few days later, Walmart asked if I’d be interested in styling something from the Drew Barrymore Flower Home collection in our home to which I said a resounding yes!

I already had so many favorites picked out…

1. set of 4 framed herb prints
2. woven pendant light
3. large framed flower print
4. woven tassel throw blanket
5. brass oval mirror (above sofa, or in powder room, entryway, or bedroom)
6. tall pink vase (great for flowering branches)
7. gold baskets
8. shag macrame pillow
9. woven floor lamp
10. pink velvet sofa ($899!)
11. jute area rug

…but we really needed art for our powder room so that was my focus.

As you recall, we recently painted the room a sage green color – a surprising mix-up from my go-to white.

The Before

I always love love love white paint but this was just falling flat in my opinion. The room needed something.

Painted

Loved the fresh new color. We went with Lichen by Farrow & Ball.

But I was struggling with what to put next to the mirror because most of the art options I had been looking at were so close to the shape and size of the mirror, and it looked off in its similarity.

I immediately came across this set of four prints of different herbs in light wood frames from the Drew Barrymore Flower line and knew they’d be perfect.

The After

I think placing these four prints together creates a nice balance without it being another singular piece in similar dimensions. The color of the herbs in the prints compliment the wall color and the wooden frames coincide with the warmth of the gold frame mirror.

The best part was they were lightweight and SO easy to hang with hooks on the back of the frames. Just needed to use a tiny nail and I just eyeballed – didn’t even measure. I love how it turned out! It was just what the room needed.

What do you think?!

There truly were a few other items in my cart – a brass mirror, this round woven rug – but ultimately I had no where to put them in our home. Womp womp.

Which pieces from the collection are your favorite?

This post was sponsored by Walmart but all of the opinions within are my own.
