If I ever get to renovate a bathroom of my own, I fully plan on using stunning brass hardware for the sink and shower fixtures!
It just looks so… awesome. Rich. Luxurious. Like you’re in some fancy hotel.
I recently realized most of the bathrooms I was pinning and saving in my instagram feed had brass fixtures.
Behold, a few of my favorites…

I would argue that brass fixtures are NOT trendy. I’d actually sooner say that the black fixtures – which I also love – are trendier. Brass has been around for over a century.
I’ve been trying to convince my sister and brother-in-law to fully embrace the look in one of their own bathroom designs they’re working on… but it reminds me sister of the shiny brass fixtures we had in our home growing up in the 90s. I keep telling her to get that out of her head because there is SUCH a difference.
Here’s a little something we’ve worked up for them!
grey vanity with marble countertop (and sink built in)
faucet in polished brass
wall sconces in brass
brushed gold knobs (also like this style)
marble hex tile for floor
white subway tile on walls w/ grey grout
Would you ever do brass fixtures in a bathroom? Or do you prefer to stick with classic chrome?
I’m with your sister – brass just reminds me of the dated fixtures we grew up with (and how tarnished/worn they looked…)
Ah I have so many thoughts and feels on this topic.
First, I also grew up in a 90s new construction with all types of icky brass… but its come back from that horrible pit fall and is here to stay! Brass bathrooms exude such taste and charm.
Also, you found AWESOME pieces for your mood board at very affordable prices. I mood board (I made it a verb) pretty much everyday and that faucet for under $250 is amazing!
Lastly, when you did your video home tour on instagram a downstairs half bathroom that has never been seen before was mentioned… I vote you paint it some sort of dramatic color (black? navy? hunter? I know you LOVE hunter!) and update it with a few brass pieces for all of us to feast our eyes on. Pretty please?!
I would but would like to use both a soft brushed nickel for my faucets-sink and shower- and accent – cabinet hardware, mirrors, sconces in a soft gold. Cabinets will be a light gray, tile on floors wall carrara marble. I welcome your thoughts.
